After major encroachments, now it is the turn of encroachments in the streets and neighbourhoods.
The Supreme Court has issued a written verdict directing administrators and municipal commissioners of all DMCs to appear in person with a report.
Ab apex court bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed and comprising Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmed, issued a written verdict in a case against encroachment in streets and neighborhoods.
The written verdict said that all DMC administrators of Karachi should appear in person.

“Administrators should immediately remove encroachments from DMCs streets, neighborhoods, sidewalks and roads and submit reports regarding the progress made in eliminating encroachments from the streets, neighborhoods, roads and sidewalks in the respective areas.”
The Supreme Court summoned municipal commissioners of Hyderabad, Latifabad, Qasimabad, Jamshoro, Badin, Jacobabad, Thatta, Larkana, Sukkur, Ghotki, Matiari, Sanghar, Kashmore, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Tando Allahyar, Tharparkar, Sujawal, Umerkot, Nausheroferoze, Benazirabad, Kambar, Shahdadkot and Mirpur Khas, and directed them to appear with the report.
