Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has nominated Aslam Gill as its candidate for the by-election in the National Assembly constituency NA-133-Lahore to be held on December 5.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Pakistan Peoples Party Central Punjab President Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, flanked by Senator Palwasha Khan and other party leaders, announced the nomination.
The seat had fallen vacant after the death of PML-N Lahore president Pervaiz Malik.
The announcement comes after a meeting of PPP leaders from central Punjab and Lahore held a day earlier with the co-chairman of the party Asif Ali Zardari.

Speaking about the skyrocketing price hike, Ashraf berated the government for not paying heeds to the lamentations and cries of people bearing the brunt of ongoing inflation, adding that the people have been abandoned.
He took a jibe at the SBP Governor Reza Baqir for saying the depreciation of the rupee against the US dollar had benefitted overseas Pakistanis and asked why was the government bent on making irresponsible statements and trivialising every issue.
