Robbers impersonating cops arrested

They were operatives of a gang that robbed people in the guise of policemen

The Mubina Town Police claimed to have arrested two suspects who robbed people in police uniform and recovered weapons and a vehicle used in the incident from their possession.

The arrested suspects were identified as Sohbat Khan and Hassan Sardar, two operatives of a gang that robbed people in guise of policemen.

Mubina Town SHO Faizul Hassan said that the arrested suspects had robbed a citizen Pervez in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area. The citizen registered a case at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station after identifying the suspects. The suspects have confessed to snatchings, robbing people and other crimes within the jurisdictions of Aziz Bhatti, Mehmoodabad, Frere, Clifton, and Darakhshan police stations.

Police foil attempt to break ATM

Unidentified suspects attempted to break an ATM to take away money inside in the PIDC area late in the night. Their attempt, however, failed as police rushed to the scene immediately. The suspects escaped leaving their tools in the ATM booth.

Sources said, suspects entered the ATM booth of Sindh Bank near the Chief Minister’s House and sprayed black paint on the CCTV cameras. After that they tried to break the ATM to withdraw money. Police received a call about the incident on Madadgar 15 and rushed to the spot. The suspects, however, managed to escape before the police reached.
