Blind murder case ‘solved’, wanted suspect held

Haripur police claimed to have solved a blind murder case and arrested the main suspect, who was on the run.

Senior Superintendent of Police (investigation) told the media at a press conference that after the murder in Naeem Colony on September 8, the police had registered a case against Gulbar and unidentified suspects at the City Police Station.

He said that the police probed the case through different angles and arrested Hafiz Mukhtiyar Ahmed, who confessed to committing the crime.

The police officer said that the suspect would be presented before a court for obtaining his physical remand. He also said that Gulbaz, the accomplice of the suspect who had fled the country after the murder, will be brought back with the help of the agencies concerned.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested a wanted criminal involved in killing a man and kidnapping and raping his wife in 2019.

Kot Najibullah police arrested the wanted criminal, Nihar Ali, during a raid.
