Pre-monsoon rescue drill conducted

MURREE:

Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Murree conducted water rescue exercises at Rawal Dam under the instructions of Secretary Emergency Services Dr Rizwan Naseer and the District Disaster Management Authority, ahead of the pre-monsoon season.

The aim of the exercises was to strengthen the readiness, rapid response and professional capabilities of rescue teams to deal with flash flooding, rising water levels in streams and canals, and drowning incidents. During the drills, practical training was given in search and rescue operations, rescue activities in fast-flowing water, and the use of rescue boats and ropes.

All water rescue equipment was also inspected.
