The Pakistan Army has organised free medical and eye treatment camps in remote areas of Cholistan desert, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement on Saturday.
In collaboration with the district administration, the special teams of the Pakistan Army are providing free medical treatment to local residents, said the military’s media wing.

The ISPR said medical camps have been organised in Channan Pir, Chak 75 DNB, Chak 121 DNB, Khatri Bangla, Dingarh, Chah Nagran, Chah Malkana, Kalapahar, Ahmadpur East, Manchinabad, and Chishtian areas of Cholistan. So far in 2021, about 12,000 people have been provided free medical facilities, it added.

The ISPR statement said that a free media camp was also established at Tehsil Hospital Fort Abbas under the auspices of Pakistan Army and district administration with the collaboration of Saylani International Welfare Trust from October 12 to 17
According to ISPR, eye infections are being diagnosed and treated at the medical camps for needy patients and cataracts are being treated through free laser eye surgery. Moreover, the ISPR said eyeglasses and medicines are also being provided free of charge to the deserving patients.
On October 15, 2021, Corps Commander Bahawalpur Lt Gen Khalid Zia also visited the eye camp, where he inspected the medical facilities being provided to the people.
He directed the authorities concerned to facilitate as many patients as possible at these medical camps.
