Police catch ‘robber’ after shoot-out

KARACHI:

Awami Colony Police have arrested an alleged robber injured in an encounter. According to Awami Colony Police Station SHO Safdar Sherwani, a patrol party of the precinct saw suspects robbing citizens near Karachi Darul-Uloom at Korangi Murtaza Chowrangi. Police told the robbers to surrender, however, they opened fire on the cops and tried to escape. However, a dacoit was seriously injured in the retaliatory police firing.

He was identified as Imran Qanchi; a resident of Sharafi Goth. TT pistol, bullets, three snatched mobile phones, and a snatched motorbike without number plate was recovered from the possession of the robbers. At the same time, one of his partners managed to escape from the opportunity. Police are conducting raids to find him. The injured dacoit was rushed to Jinnah Hospital for immediate medical treatment, where his condition is reported to be critical.
