The Sindh High Court (SHC) has sought a report from the federal government on the enforced disappearances in Sindh and directed the families of four missing persons to approach the Sindh Advocate General Office.
While hearing a petition seeking government support for the families of the missing persons, Justice Salahuddin Panhwar remarked, “What has the Human Rights Commission done for human rights? Shut down this institution.”
Justice Panhwar remarked that so many forums have been set up for the recovery of missing persons, but the result was zero.

Sindh Advocate General Salman Talib-ud-Din stated that in almost every petition with regard to the missing persons, it is said that the Rangers came and picked them up. “Rangers is a federal agency. The federal government may be ordered to provide for the families of the missing persons,” the advocate general argued.
Representing the federal government, Assistant Attorney General Abdul Wahab Baloch contended that the Rangers had been summoned by the provincial government to maintain law and order. “If they have a problem with the Rangers, they should send them back,” he argued.
