At a time when influencers, models and bloggers on social media are getting their accounts verified, actor Adnan Siddiqui is still using an unverified Twitter handle despite having more than 98,000 followers.

The popular actor, who’s also a producer now, took to the micro-blogging site to air his concerns. Tagging the Twitter team responsible for verifying public figures’ accounts, he wrote, “Hello, 220 million Pakistanis can vouch for me being a big time small actor (or the other way round, as they please), who had worked across continents.”

He then asked, “[Am I] still not qualified enough to get my handle verified?”

Aside from working in numerous Pakistani films and television serials, Siddiqui is one of the few local performers who has worked in both Hollywood and Bollywood. He played a small role alongside Angelina Jolie and Irrfan Khan in the 2007 film A Mighty Heart, and starred alongside Sridevi and Sajal Aly in 2017 film Mom.

In 2002, he was nominated for Best Actor (TV) in the Lux Style Awards, aside from being its red carpet host. In 2010, he won Best Supporting Actor Award for Ishq Junoon Deewangi at Pakistan Media Awards.

He is currently involved in executive producing a period drama on the founder of the Ayyubi Empire, Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi with Humayun Saeed. Earlier, Siddiqui and Saeed had revealed that they are also executive producing upcoming television series Turkey Lala, in collaboration with the makers of Diriliş: Ertuğrul.
