44 revenue officials transferred

Official says public complaints to be addressed on priority basis

RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali has issued orders to transfer 44 patwaris serving in the district holding key urban constituencies despite continued opposition from the Revenue Department.

The deputy commissioner chaired a meeting on Friday to review the monthly performance of the Finance Department.

During the meeting, this was revealed that directives issued by the Punjab Government and Board of Revenue could not be implemented effectively because of the absence of revenue officers and patwaris in several tehsils.

The deputy commissioner issued orders to send back 44 patwaris stationed in the district to their respective tehsils of recruitment. These include Koliyan Par, Gorakhpur, Dehgal, Ranotra, Lakhan, Jarahi, Kotha Kalan, Gangal, Dhok Safo, Mangtal, and others.

The deputy commissioner warned that negligence in the redressal of public complaints will not be tolerated at any cost. “Strict action would be taken against corrupt components in the Finance Department”, Ali added. He said special cells would be set up to address the matter.

On a separate note, directives were issued for Establishment of Rural Centre Mall. District administration spokesperson said the government would make recruitment on vacant seats in  the district on the direction of the Board of Revenue.
