PPP district president shot dead

The deceased Malik Ishfaq had a family feud for the past 30 years which has claimed many lives

BANNU:

The district president of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was gunned down outside the judicial complex in Bannu district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Wednesday.

Police said that the accused who were riding a bike opened fire at Malik Ishfaq Khan, killing him on the spot. The attackers managed to escape after committing the crime. The deceased Malik Ishfaq had a family feud for the past 30 years which has claimed many lives.

“This happened around 10 o’clock in the morning in the jurisdiction of Saddar police station. Tahseen and Bailal opened fire at him. Police registered an FIR in the case on the complaint of Malik Ishfaq’s son Muhammad Akbar Khan,” said a police official while talking to The Express Tribune.

“He was the president of PPP for Bannu district and a well-known politician who contested general elections for a provincial assembly seat in the past,” he said. Police said that investigation was underway and the accused will soon be arrested as police teams had been formed to raid the hideouts of the accused.
