US envoy’s Karachi visit highlights ties with Pakistan

Envoy meets Sindh governor, CM to discuss education, vaccination projects

KARACHI:

The US Chargé d'Affaires ai Angela P Aggeler visited Karachi from September 29 to October 1 to strengthen bilateral ties between Pakistan and the United States and promote efforts against the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The anti-Covid efforts include the recent US donations of nearly 16 million Pfizer vaccine doses to the people of Pakistan, and the planned donation of nearly 10 million more Pfizer doses in the coming days.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah welcomed Aggeler back to Karachi for her second visit.

She discussed opportunities to improve economic opportunities for the people of Sindh with Governor Ismail.

During her meeting with CM Murad Shah, Aggeler highlighted the US partnership with Sindh provincial authorities to fight Covid-19 and US support for education in Sindh, including the USAID-funded Sindh Basic Education Programme.
