Four-year-old allegedly raped in Swat

SWAT:

A four-year-old child was raped in Mingora city of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Swat district on Wednesday.

The unfortunate incident took place in Mohallah Qasaban area of the city.

A first information report was lodged by the victim’s mother with Mingora police stating that her four-year-old son was playing out on the street with other children when a neighbor namely Babar took him to his house and raped the child.

He reached back home crying and told her mother that he had been sexually assaulted by his neighbour. Police registered an FIR against the accused and arrested him immediately.

Young girl ‘abducted, raped’ by boss

The number of sexual abuse cases has been on the rise in Swat as two incest cases along with multiple rape cases have also been reported from the district.

Police said the child has been sent for medical examination. “On August 3, a girl was raped by her boyfriend in Swat and there is no end to such cases,” said a police officer while talking to The Express Tribune.

“These cases are widespread but are not reported to police most of the time. Mostly teenagers are involved in it. This is the result of unrestricted use of internet and social media.

These youngsters use their smartphones to watch pornography and other such material unchecked.

Parents don’t care about it and when these teenagers start raping other children and involve in sexual violence then police is blamed for it,” he said, adding that smartphones should not be allowed for underage children.
