An 8-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped, gang-raped and murdered in Multan.
Police registered a case and detained seven suspects including the victim’s relatives and neighbours for questioning.
The initial post-mortem report of the girl revealed that the minor girl was strangled to death after being sexually assaulted.
Samples of the evidence collected from the crime scene had been sent to the Punjab Forensic Lab for further investigation. The police decided to conduct geofencing of the crime scene.

Police claimed to have interrogated 112 persons, however, the alleged rapists had not been traced.
Multan Regional Police Officer (RPO) Syed Khurram Ali and CPO Munir Masood formed 13 different teams to launch a hunt for the suspects.
The report of the tragic incident was submitted by the Multan RPO to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. The 8-year-old girl, a daughter of Qaiser Abbas, was abducted seven days ago from Shah Shams area of Multan. Her body was found in a field near Qasimpur canal. Initial findings by the police revealed that the girl was strangled to death.
After postmortem, the body was handed over to the heirs and laid to rest.
According to police report, some relatives of the deceased had also been arrested. Those arrested include Tariq, Sarfraz, Nabil, Guddu and others.
Police decided to conduct geofencing in the area based on which mobile numbers used at the crime scene will be traced.
