KARACHI:

A twelve-year-old boy was killed and a middle-aged man was wounded during a shootout between two politico-ethnic groups in Orangi Town on Monday evening.

Police said that a stray bullet hit Naseeb when members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Awami National Party took up arms in the Katti Pahari area. A 52-year-old pan shop owner Naseem, 52, was also wounded.

The deceased and injured were taken to Qatar Hospital in Orangi Town. SHO Pervez Gujjar said that both of them were residents of the same area. The officer said that Naseeb ran a burger cart and was going to the cart owner’s house to return the stuff when a stray bullet hit his head and killed him at the spot. Tension prevailed in parts of Orangi Town following the incident and one more person, Saeed, 40, was wounded in the Mominabad area. However, police claim that the situation is under control.
