‘Balochistan uplift’ is top priority of govt: Murad

Current government has undertaken a number of road building schemes in Balochistan, adds Murad

ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed has disclosed details of construction and maintenance schemes for the Balochistan National Highways.

Relaying details of the project, he said the current government has undertaken a number of road building schemes in Balochistan, adding that that development and prosperity in the country’s largest province will ultimately lead to all round development of the country.

“Our endeavor is to transform Balochistan into a prosperous, peaceful and developed province where people may avail all facilities like clean drinking water, employment and business opportunities equally,” Saeed said. “The incumbent government not only approved western route of CPEC but also started ZhobKuchlak project.”

It is pertinent to mention that work on 146km HoshabAwaran project is in full swing and progress on this project is ahead of schedule. The minister highlighted that work on the 165km Ziarat Mor – Kuch –Harnai Highway and 198km Basima-Khuzdar Highway is also in progress, adding that construction work of Basima-Khuzdar will be completed this year.

He further informed the reporters that Prime Minister Imran Khan will perform ground breaking of JhaljaoBela project in the upcoming week.

“Procurement of one section of Karachi-Chaman-QuettaKhuzdar project has been completed while the tender for second section of 330km has been advertised. Both sections will be completed on Build Operate Transfer (BOT) basis. Total length of this road project is 796 Km,” Saeed said
