An addition sessions judge in Islamabad on Thursday set October 6 as the date for indicting Zahir Jaffer, the prime suspect in the Noor Muqqadam murder case, and 11 other accused.

Additional sessions judge Islamabad Ata Rabbani heard the case. The prime suspect was produced before the court by the police while the six other accused, who have been granted bail, appeared before the court themselves. They include CEO Therapy Works, Tahir Zahoor, among others.

All the 12 accused were provided copies of the challan.

While hearing the bail plea, Justice Amir Farooq inquired about the murder timing of Noor Muqaddam. To this, counsel for the plaintiff, Shah Khawar, replied that according to the CCTV footage, Noor jumped from the first floor of the house at 6:35 pm and the murder could have taken place between 7:15 pm to 7:30 pm.

The counsel said that the prime suspect (Zahir Jaffer) had constantly been in contact with his parents during the murder, proving their abetment in the crime.

It was a brutal murder and the co-suspects should not be granted bail, the plaintiff counsel said.

The counsel said that a citizen, Zubair, informed the police about the murder at 8:45 pm. “At that time, the Therapy Works staff was at the scene while the injured servant had gone for his treatment.”
