Three persons, including a young boy, were injured as a result of aerial firing by the anti-encroachment police over resistance during an operation to remove squatters from three plots in Korangi Industrial Area (KIA).
Anti-encroachment personnel, anti-encroachment police and mukhtiarkar reached at plots No. 145, 148 and 149 situated in Ibrahim Goth, Sector 7/A within the limits of the KIA police to launch an operation against encroachments. The squatters resisted and tried to stop the drive.
They also assaulted the operation team, prompting them to fire aerial shots due to which three persons, including a young boy, sustained injuries. The injured were rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. The encroachment police and the mukhtiarkar left the scene after the incident.

A few people also protested outside the KIA police station after the incident. SHO KIA Inayatullah Marwat said that the injured were identified as Hamza, 12, son of Mohib Gul, Muhammad Anis, 32, son of Muhammad Yahya and Muhammad Ramzan, 55, son of Muhammad. He said that police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
