Kashmir Committee Chairman Shehryar Khan Afridi called upon United States-based academicians and think tanks to visit Kashmir and conduct impartial research on the ongoing genocide and war crimes against the freedom-loving people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said this in a meeting with the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations Ambassador Munir Akram, stated a press release issued on Saturday.
Afridi added that the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir will open up avenues for different US think tanks and philanthropists who wish to publicise facts on the ongoing conflict.

The meeting expressed the resolve to expand the level of engagement with US think tanks, academicians, lawmakers and officials and sensitise them on the genocide and demographic changes in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Afridi stated that the Pakistani nation stands firm with the Kashmiri people in their struggle. "Prime Minister Imran Khan's vision and statements about Kashmir are very clear and the prosperous world must understand that Jammu and Kashmir is not merely a territorial dispute but a nuclear flashpoint. The human rights violations and the organised war crimes committed by the Indian regime have been brought to light at different forums," he stressed.
The Kashmir Committee chairman further said that humanity appeals to the conscience of the masses, adding that the world must intervene to bring justice and peace to the Kashmiris who are being systematically eliminated by the Indian occupational regime.
"It is high time that facts about the Indian war crimes against the oppressed people of Kashmir be highlighted to the movers and shakers of the world so the misery and agony faced by the Kashmiri people could be brought to an end," he concluded.
The meeting also paid tribute to late Kashmiri resistance leaders Syed Ali Geelani and Ashraf Khan Sehrai and called on the United Nations to hold an impartial probe into the custodial killing of both Hurriyat leaders.
It further expressed concerns over the Indian regime's plans to eliminate the Kashmiri leadership languishing in Indian jails, calling for their immediate shifting to the jails in Jammu and Kashmir.
The participants vowed their commitment to carry forward their mission and expose the Indian administration's plans against the people of IIOJK. Washington-based World Kashmir Awareness Forum Secretary General Dr Ghulam Nabi Mir and Dr Imtiaz Khan of George Washington University were also present on the occasion.
