Citizens can receive second dose throughout the week: NCOC
NCOC says those awaiting their second dose do not need to wait for SMS from 1166
The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) on Saturday announced that those awaiting their second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine may visit a vaccination centre on any day of the week.
NCOC, the nerve centre of the government’s anti-pandemic strategy, maintained that citizens do not have to wait for a message from the authority to proceed with a second dose, Radio Pakistan reported.
Last week, the authority announced that partially vaccinated individuals could get their scheduled second jabs without waiting for the message.
The NCOC had said that those who have had their second dose scheduled could get inoculation from any vaccination centre.
The forum had set Sunday as an exclusive day for administration of the second dose.
The government has stepped up the nationwide vaccination campaign as the country battls the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, fuelled by the Indian-origin Delta variant of coronavirus.
