Pindi reports two more Covid deaths

The infection rate in the district climbs to 13.85 per cent.

RAWALPINDI:

Two more covid-related fatalities were reported in Rawalpindi during the past 24 hours while the infection rate climbs to 13.85 per cent. One patient each succumbed to the virus at the Holy Family Hospital (HFH) and Rawalpindi Institute of Urology and Kidney Transplant (RIUKT) on Wednesday.

Some 164 people contracted the virus during the last 24 hours while 190 infected patients are receiving treatment in hospitals. The newly reported cases belonged to 36 from Rawal Town, 34 from Potohar, 30 from Cantt, 26 from Gujar Khan, 13 from Taxila, seven each from Kotli Sattian and Murree, six from Kallar Syedan, three from Islamabad while one each was reported from Chakwal and Kahuta.

Presently, 212 confirmed patients are admitted to various facilities with 33 at HFH, 50 at Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 82 at RIUKT, 32 at Fauji Foundation Hospital, six at Bilal Hospital, three each at District Headquarters and Hearts International hospitals, two at Akhtar Rukhsana Memorial trust and one at Attock hospital, the health authority reported.

The health experts said that the patients with chronic diseases find it hard to combat Covid-19 once contracted. They urged all such people to strictly implement standard operating procedures and get themselves vaccinated.
