THEKRI WALA:

A case has been registered against two women for torturing an 11-year-old housemaid and keeping her detained in their house in Thikriwala.

Sub-Inspector Tasawar Ramzan of Sadar police station filed a complaint stating that Farman Ali, a resident of Bhutto Colony, had informed him that his 11-year-old daughet Miskan worked at the house of Mubeen Ahmed in Galaxy Colony.

The complainant said Ishrat Bibi and Shakila Bibi had taken money for getting the girl employed as domestic help in the house. They did not allow her to go out and meet her parents.

The official stated that he reached the house and found the 11-year-old girl confined inside.

The police registered a case against the suspects under Section 112 of the Punjab Restriction on Employment of Children Act 2016 and launched a search to apprehend them.

Earlier this year in June, an 11-year-old housemaid was tortured by a private schoolteacher with a hot iron for not ironing clothes properly on Canal Road in Khurrianwala.

The Child Protection Bureau (CPB) team took the girl into their custody and carried out her medical examination and registered a case against the school teacher.

Police said Madiha, a private schoolteacher living in Eden Valley on Canal Road, hired an 11-year-old girl, a resident of Luckwala Sahiwal, as a housemaid at her house on a salary of Rs8,000 a month.
