QUETTA: Power shortfall in Balochistan soared to 1,000 megawatts on Sunday after militants blew up two power pylons of 220-kilovolts transmission lines (Uch-Sibi double circuit transmission line).

Unknown miscreants had attached explosive devices to the pylons, located near Sibi district, which went off with a huge explosion, destroying both pylons. Power outages have adversely affected the routine life of people throughout Balochistan, as electricity supply remains suspended for longer periods, even during iftar and sehri timings.
