A man shot dead his wife over a domestic dispute in Satiana area on Thursday.

Police took the body into custody and handed it over to his heirs after taking necessary action and registered a case against the suspect under the section 302 Pakistan Penal Code. Reportedly, 35-year-old Shakeela Bibi, daughter of Ishaq Ahmed, a resident of Chak 129 GB, was married to Khurram Shehzad.

She had been living in her parents’ house for the past eight months after a fight with her husband due to frequent quarrels between the couple. On Thursday, Shehzad opened fire on his wife after a quarrel between the couple. As a result, she was shot in the chest and seriously injured. She was rushed to Satiana Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Last month, a man allegedly killed his wife after lingering domestic disputes in Gulshanabad area of Hasilpur, Punjab.

Kulsoom Bibi, a 32-year-old, a resident of Gulshanabad area of Hasilpur, was shot in the head by her husband Muhammad Sharif, reportedly due to domestic disputes.

Upon receiving the report of the incident, the area police rushed to the spot and started preliminary investigation. Kulsoom’s husband initially claimed that some unknown persons had killed her. However, he reportedly confessed after further police interrogation that he had shot dead his wife due to domestic disputes.
