Hundreds of people staged a protest demonstration against the confiscation of precious agriculture land for the propose of Industrial Zone in Dir Lower district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Tuesday.
They chanted slogans and blocked Dir-Chitral Road for all kind of vehicular traffic and demanded of the government to take their decision by Agusut 20, otherwise they will be left with no option but to march on Islamabad.
It is worth noting here that the provincial government has imposed section four on 850 kanal land in Dir Lower for the constriction of industrial zones. Local residents strongly oppose it as the agriculture land is considered very precious in the area and the proposed zone is in the middle of the populated area. They demanded of the government to use barren land for the establishment of the industrial zone and this zone should be away from the densely populated area.
