KARACHI:

Work on a Pakistan national flag, dubbed the largest one in the world, started at Jheel Park, off Tariq Road on Monday.

"We started with the cutting of the star and the crescent," said Sheikh Nisar of VIP Flag. More than 50 workers are engaged in the making of the flag which will surely be the largest so far, Nisar said expressing hope that it will break the world record.

"So far we are making rough cuts, the final stitch will come later when all the measurements have been perfected," he said. The national flag has a particular ratio of the green and white space, besides the size and placing of the star and the crescent all these proportions have to be perfect to give honour to the national flag, Nisar explained.
