August 14: Festivities in Hazara Division

Speakers highlighted sacrifices of freedom fighters and stressed need to strive for prosperity and development.

ABBOTABAD: Various programmes were held in Hazara Division to mark August 14. Flag hoisting ceremonies were held at the main campus of Hazara University, Mansehra Tehsil Municipal Administration office, Abbottabad and Haripur.

The speakers highlighted sacrifices of the freedom fighters and stressed the need to strive for prosperity and development. They called for unity and patriotism, in the face of the prevailing challenges the country was facing, to combat the anti state elements that were conspiring to harms its very existence.

Judo Karate, national songs and anthem by children were the special features of August 14 celebrations. Prof Dr Syed Sakhawat Shah vice chancellor Hazara University, Deputy Coordination Officer Abbottabad Syed Zaheer us Islam, DCO Haripur Syed Mohsan Shah were among those who spoke to the participants of flag hoisting ceremonies.
