Four people, including two female teachers and a child, died while four others suffered injuries when a passenger wagon rammed into a parked truck on Chakbeli Road on Saturday.
According to the police, the wagon was hauling female teachers to Rawalpindi from Chakbeli Khan. They have started the investigation to trace the cause of the accident.
A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 said two victims were females teachers. The deceased persons were identified as 28-year-old Nazrana Bibi, four-year-old Hadi, 30-year-old Naila and 35-year-old driver Rizwan. The injured include 28-year-old Quratul Ain, 32-year-old Aqaba Qadeer, 37-year-old Tahira Batool, and 25-year-old Rafia Sarfaraz.
The rescue teams rushed to the spot as soon as the accident was reported. The injured were shifted to the Rural Health Centre while the bodies were taken to district headquarters (DHQ) hospital.

Rescue 1122 spokesperson said the deceased sustained serious head injuries owing to which they died on the spot. The police have impounded both vehicles involved in the accident for investigation.
The police said the initial investigation showed that the accident resulted from speeding as the passenger vehicle rammed into a truck parked on the roadside. However, the reality would come out after testimonies of the witnesses, they said, assuring that the truck driver will be arrested soon.
The driver hailed from Chakbeli Khan village while Naila and her son were residents of Police Colony. Nazrana Bibi hailed from Dhok Syedan area of Rawalpindi.
The bodies would be handed over to the families once the autopsies were completed.
