KARACHI:

A special anti-terrorism court has ordered the accused and lawyers to ensure their attendance at the next hearing of cases lodged against a media house attack and provocative speeches.

The cases of the media house attack and provocative speeches were heard before the special anti-terrorism court in Karachi.

Accused MQM leader Rauf Siddiqui appeared in court. The defence lawyer said another party leader, Farooq Sattar, was in Islamabad and could not appear.

Meanwhile, former Karachi mayor Wasim Akhtar was suffering from Covid-19 and, therefore, could not appear as well.

The court adjourned the case of five provocative speeches and the hearing of the media house attack case till September 4.

It ordered the accused and lawyers to ensure their attendance at the next hearing.

The accused have been charged with assaulting a media house and making provocative speeches.
