PTI in favour of ‘constitutional change’

Says a false case was registered against him because he was highlighting the plight of the people in Sindh

KARACHI:

Sindh Assembly Opposition leader Haleem Adil Sheikh said the PTI favoured constitutional change in the province rather than governor’s rule to provide relief to the masses.

He was talking to media persons after appearing before a model court in Mirpur Mathelo on Friday. Earlier, the opposition leader attended the hearing of the Ghotki bye-elections case in the model court. The court adjourned the hearing of the case to August 28.

Sheikh said that a false case was registered against him because he was highlighting the plight of the people of Sindh and exposing PPP’s corruption. He criticised the Sindh government for failing to maintain peace and said the Centre had vowed to restore order in the province.

“The writ of law in the province has withered to the extent that outlaws attack police and are seen dancing on armed personnel carriers, while brandishing the latest weapons.”

He said the change of faces would not work as PPP’s ‘;game’ had come to its logical end, the leader of the opposition maintained.

Sheikh claimed PTI was gaining momentum in Sindh as prominent political figures were joining the party, he said. The opposition leader revealed PTI would field its candidates from all constituencies of the province in the upcoming elections.
