Testing of transmission line completed

HVDC system transmitts 3,000 megawatts of electricity on the bi-pole successfully as per requirement

Pak Matiari-Lahore Transmission Line Company and National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) on Monday completed the high power testing of ±660kV high voltage, direct current (HVDC) Matiari-Lahore transmission line on a fast track. Subsequently, the HVDC system transmitted 3,000 megawatts of electricity on the bi-pole successfully as per requirement of the transmission services agreement. During the testing phase, NTDC Managing Director Muhammad Ayub remained in the control room of National Power Construction Corporation and monitored HVDC parameters. He also sought an update and issued guidelines to the commissioning working group, consultant and independent engineers to perform the test vigilantly.
