Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervez Elahi adjourned the session as the government failed to produce Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) MPA Nazir Chohan for the second consecutive day in the PA.

Speaker Elahi spoke few words and said as per what we had decided the House is adjourned by Monday 2:00 pm.

Earlier on July 29, the quarters concerned had to produce Chohan before the Punjab Assembly in light of the production order which Speaker Elahi had issued but neither that day nor the following day (July 30) Chohan was produced.

On July 29 during the PA proceedings, the Speaker had claimed that “neither the House will be run nor will any legislation of the government be carried or passed till the appearance of the Chohan in PA”.

On Monday the House was to start at 2:00 pm but it started at 4:15 pm.
