Four nabbed for ‘abducting’ newborn twins

Police launch a probe into the incident

Four people, including a childless couple were arrested for abducting newborn twins from Government General Hospital Ghulam Muhammadabad Gynaecology Ward on Wednesday.

Ghulam Muhammadabad police recovered the twins after a few hours and registered a case.

According to police sources, Kiran Bibi, wife of Khalid, a resident of Chak No 123GB Sadhupura, came to the hospital with her mother Rukhsana Bibi on July 27 and gave birth to twins at 11pm.

A woman identified as Samira Bibi came to Kiran and told her at dawn that she was going to get both babies checked in the nursery ward along with their grandmother. However, she allegedly put the twins in a bag and fled.

When the babies did not return till the morning, the hospital administration came into action on the complaint of Kiran.
