Man taken into custody for torturing mother

Victim demanded the police to take legal action against her son.

RAWALPINDI:

Sadiqabad police have arrested a man who tortured his mother for refusing to give him money. The police have also registered a case against the son under the Protection of Parents Ordinance.

The incident of beating and torturing the woman, Noorain Bibi, occurred in Bihari Colony. The mother told the police that she has three sons and her husband is abroad for employment.

Her second son, Ali, often fights with her and keeps demanding that she give him money. She also said that her son had threatened her many times to kill her. On this latest occasion, he attacked her.

She said that her life was in danger and her eldest son barely saved her. The victim demanded the police take legal action against her second son. The Rawalpindi police spokesperson said that they had received a complaint of violence on social media.

Thereafter, the Sadiqabad police contacted the victim and registered a complaint. The suspect was arrested under the Protection of Parents Ordinance 2021 and Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
