Ramazan package cards arrive
Eligible families identified on basis of Socio-Economic Registry Survey, each family to receive Rs10,000

The Punjab government has launched the Ramazan Nigehban Package in Kot Addu to provide financial relief to deserving families during the month. Assistant Commissioner Roman Khalil said the programme had been implemented successfully last year and the number of beneficiary families had been increased now.
As a result, the number of Nigehban Cards has been enhanced. The official said 19,000 cards have arrived here in the first phase, while more would be provided in the coming days. To ensure transparency, the cards will be delivered to the doorsteps of 19,000 deserving families across the district.
Teams have been formed for the door-to-door distribution. The identification of eligible families has been carried out on the basis of the recently conducted Socio-Economic Registry Survey. Under the package, each family will receive Rs10,000, which can be spent at designated retailers. For monitoring and grievance redressal, a control room has been established at the DC Office. A help desk has also been set up at the AC Office.
