Islamabad administrator Syeda Shafaq Hashmi has directed the Directorate Municipal Administration (DMA) to crackdown on unauthorised cattle markets that have sprung up in different parts of the federal capital, a spokesperson said on Sunday.
The operation was launched from Rawal Dam Sector G during which the illegal cattle markets in Bhara Kahu, Sector E-11 along Srinagar Highway, and Saidpur village were cleaned up and the traders were shifted from the sites in different areas to DMA-approved markets, the official added.

Notably, the DMA officials were assaulted by animal vendors on Lehtar Road on Saturday and one official was reported seriously injured. The officials said the DMA director is present in the field to review all arrangements in cattle markets in the federal capital.
A special desk has also been set up in the directorate for public convenience, the official maintained, adding that citizens can lodge complaints regarding cattle markets on the specified numbers DMA.
The official further informed that DMA has set up special counters at all cattle markets for immediate action on rates.
