Prisoner escapes from Covid ward
An assistant sub-inspector and two constables were suspended for their negligence
KARACHI:
Three suspects admitted in the jail ward of Liaquat University Hospital in Hyderabad for treatment of their Covid-19 symptoms escaped from the ward on Friday.
However, the police arrested two of the escaped suspects, Irfan Buledi and Babur Lakho, from Sehrish Nagar area of Qasimabad in the evening.
The third suspect, Mohsin Maseeh who belonged to the Tando Jam area, is still at large.
An assistant sub-inspector and two constables were suspended for their negligence.
A court had remanded the three suspects to jail custody. But their Covid-19 tests appeared positive before they could be sent to the prison.
Separately, Model Criminal Trial Court on Friday convicted a man with life in prison after he was proved guilty of killing his stepfather dead in 2019.
Naveed Rajar had shot dead Police Constable Ali Anwar Chachar in the limits of Hussainabad police station on April 25, 2019, over a family dispute.
