11 die in Punjab road crashes

947 others were also injured in 886 road traffic crashes in 36 districts of the province

As many as 11 persons were killed while 947 others were injured in 886 road traffic crashes (RTCs) in all 36 districts of Punjab over the past 24 hours.

Out of the total injured, 566 victims were seriously injured who were shifted to different hospitals whereas 370 minor injured victims were treated at the incident site by Rescue 1122 Medical Teams.

The majority of RTCs, around 64 per cent, involved motorcycles.

Furthermore, the analysis showed that 445 drivers, 34 underage drivers, 92 pedestrians, and 410 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes.

The statistics showed that 245 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 257 persons, placing the provincial capital at the top of the list followed by 87 RTCs in Faisalabad with 96 victims and Multan at third with 65 RTCS and 68 victims.

The details further revealed that 947 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 784 male and 163 female victims. The age group of the victims showed that 177 road crash victims were under 18 years of age.

According to the data, as many as 715 motorcycles and 141 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
