
Pakistani artist Arooj Aftab has made it to the former US president Barack Obama's summer playlist! The singer has been featured with the likes of Rihanna, The Rolling Stones, Jay-Z, Bob Dylan with her popular track, Mohabbat. Mira Sethi, Riz Ahmed, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy and others congratulated Arooj on the achievement.
The crooner took to social media and expressed gratitude. "Well this has been wonderful to wake up to!" Arooj shard on Instagram, adding, "Thank you, Barack Obama."
Speaking of his annual playlist, Obama had written, "With so many folks getting together with family and friends, there’s a lot to celebrate this summer. Here’s a playlist of songs I’ve been listening to lately—it's a mix of old and new, household names and emerging artists, and a whole lot in between."

In 2019, Indian artist Prateek Kuhad managed to end his year on a high with a mention by the former president in the same list. The indie musician’s cold/mess has made it to former US president Barack Obama’s “Best of 2019” playlist, alongside tracks from Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, and Bruce Springsteen.
