ISLAMABAD:

The Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while welcoming the extension in Pak-Afghan transit trade accord for another six months, has said that it is essential to facilitate the uninterrupted flow of transit trade between the two countries. Speaking to a delegation of importers and exporters on Friday, Saarc Chamber chief Iftikhar Ali Malik said that the decision to extend the agreement was mainly aimed at preventing any disruption to trade and transit affairs between the two countries and it would also help buy time to further discuss and finalise proposed amendments to the agreement. He said that Pakistan’s clear vision for trade and economic relations with Afghanistan and Central Asian Republics (CARs) would turn Pakistan into a hub of trade, transit and shipment.
