Five suspects nabbed for molesting teenage boy

Police say action was taken in light of victim’s medical reports

Police booked five suspects who molested a 14-year-old boy in the jurisdiction of Kot Najibullah police station.

According to the police, Haripur DPO Kashif Zulfiqar has taken strict notice of the incident. He ordered Khanpur DSP Abrar Khan and Kot Najibullah police station SHO Arshad Khan to apprehend the suspects at the earliest.

On the instructions, the SHO carried out raids on multiple locations and booked five suspects. They include Iftikhar, Kamran, Adil, Atif, and Junaid. Police added raids were being conducted for the arrest of the remaining suspect. There were six suspects involved in the crime, they said, adding that the action was being taken in the light of the medical report of the victim.

Haripur DPO has assured that the administrator of the private drug rehabilitation centre who tortured the patients would be arrested soon.

In a separate case, Haripur DPO has assured the administrator of a private drug rehabilitation centre, who tortured the patients, would be arrested soon.

Earlier, Khalabat police received a written complaint regarding a drug rehab in the jurisdiction. It said that the patients of the centre are kept chained and face assault while there wasn’t any doctor and psychiatrists. The police investigated the charges that proved to be true. After this, a case was registered against the administrator of the centre Maulana Ilyas Qadri.

Haripur DPO and district officials visited the rehabilitation centre and decided to seal it after shifting the patients to the social welfare department.

The police have previously taken action against the same place but it couldn’t be shut down. According to the administrator, a case regarding the issue is under adjudication in the Supreme Court (SC) and he has the permission letter to run it.
