Actor Sheheryar Munawwar revealed in an interview from April that he was offered a role in the 2017 Bollywood film Raabta, which starred late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles.

The Parey Hut Love star revealed that he was offered the role of an antagonist but ended up turning it down. The role was then played by the Padmaavat actor Jim Sarbh. Munawar revealed that the casting director of the film, Mukesh Chhabra, was upset with his due to his refusal. The actor elaborated that he was not interested in pursuing a negative character.

The actor gained widespread recognition in India after the drama Zindagi Gulzar Hai aired there. Munawar was also offered a role in Veere Di Wedding, which starred Kareena Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor.

Munawar revealed in another interview with a local news outlet that his experience of working on Zindagi Gulzar Hai was not a pleasant one and that he struggled while filming. The actor spoke about how he was bullied by other actors on set.

With reference to Fawad Khan, who starred as the lead in the series, he said, “Fawad was straight out of Humsafar and I was just a newbie. The fact that I was the nephew of the director also contributed to it. He was tough on me. He wasn’t a bully like the ones we see on television but he was hard on me.”He went on to share, “That was a very tough one and a half month.” The actor clarified that he and Khan are on good terms now.
