Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is known for his wit and humour but an old and problematic statement of his has become all the rage on social media.

In times of rampant political correctness, an old interview of Akshay with online portal Rediff sees him accusing all men of being "lustful."

In this 2014 interview, Akshay is promoting his film The Shaukeens. When the host inquires about the film that revolves around three sexagenarian friends, Akshay says all men are composed in a way that they are bound to stare at women.

The film sees these elderly men, or ‘shaukeens’ heading to Mauritius on a vacation after getting bored of their mundane lifestyle, falling in love with the same girl and wooing her in their own element.

In response to the host’s queries, Akshay shares, "There is no man who isn’t lustful. When a man looks at a woman, his imagination is bound to run wild. A male’s DNA is composed in such a way that he will stare at a woman. The catch is in how he behaves with the woman. Anyone who disagrees with this and says it depends on perspective is again trying to hide their lust because it is socially unacceptable to think free."

The Shaukeens features Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor, Piyush Mishra, and Lisa Haydon in the leading roles. Akshay has co-produced this film and it is a remake of the 1982 Shaukeen, which was directed by Basu Chatterjee. The 2014 film is helmed by Abhishek Sharma.

On the work front, Akshay is currently awaiting the release of his film Sooryavashi. Directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Picturez, Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films, Sooryavashi also stars Katrina Kaif.
