Discusses upcoming general election in AJK with Farooq Haider

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday expressed his confidence that the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) would repose their trust in his party in the upcoming general election in the region.

Shehbaz held a meeting with the AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider. He lauded the hard work and dedication of the AJK prime minister and his team in saving the people from the coronavirus pendemic.

“The Kashmiris know that the PML-N is their true voice and has representation on both sides of the LoC [Line of Control]. The Kashmiris see the PML-N as the guardian of their interests and ideology,” Shahbaz said during the meeting.

He assured that PML-N had, and would always stand by the brave people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir till the attainment of their inalienable right to self-determination and freedom from the Indian occupation.

Haider briefed the PML-N president about the budget and development works in the AJK. He briefed Shehbaz about the arrangements and preparations for the elections in the region, which would be held next month. Haider also discussed matters related to the party’s candidates in the elections.
