PESHAWAR: The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is providing $900,000 to Human Development Organization Doaba (HDOD), a local non-governmental organisation to improve the medicinal and aromatic plant (MAP) sector. The funding support is provided through USAID Pakistan Entrepreneurs project’s sub-award. A sub-agreement was signed by HDOD Executive Director and Party Entrepreneurs Chief Agnes G Luz on July 12 to carry out the project titled “Value Chain Development of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants” in various districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The initiative will benefit local MAP collectors in several ways and is expected to increase their income by at least 50 per cent.
