The exams will be taken by eight examination boards in the province. The decision regarding the practical exams will be taken later.

The provincial government has issued a formal notification in this regard. A meeting of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chairman Boards Committee was held here at the Swat Board under the chairmanship of Dr Shaukat Hayat attended by the chairmen of all the eight boards.

The meeting reviewed the situation in depth and decided that the exams will be held on June 23. As per the approved schedule the first paper of the matric exam will be on June 23 and Intermediate exam will start from June 24.

Talking to The Express Tribune an official said that the exams will be taken as per the old methods and no new experiment will be allowed in this regard.

“It was also decided whether to take the practical exams or not. All the board chairmen were of the opinion that if the situation of Covid-19 pandemic improves then a decision will be taken to take the practical exams otherwise they will be postponed,” said the official, adding that it was also decided that the entire examination staff will be posted after checking their Covid-19 vaccination.

“The examination staff will be vaccinated. Teachers who can’t produce their vaccination certificate will not be accepted at any cost,” he said, adding that all the boards have been informed about the decision that no teacher will be allowed on examination duty without vaccination.

Peshawar Board is the largest board in the province, followed by Mardan Board and Abbottabad Board taking into account the number of students in these boards.
