Actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s Italian wedding, back in November 2018, looked like something straight out of a fairytale. The ceremony took place at Lake Como, and was the ultimate destination wedding. To stay present and live in the moment, as well as safeguard the couple’s privacy, the Piku actor revealed there was a strict no-phone policy at the event. And she finally gave the reason for it too!
“Privacy was secondary. The reason we asked our guests not to have cell phones was because we wanted them to be present in the moment. Usually, everyone is on their cell phones, capturing the moment,” the actor told Filmfare.
She added, "These moments should be in your mind and heart as they’re never going to come back. Every single guest, I kid you not, is so thankful. People who’ve never danced in their lives were on the dance floor. That’s how free people were.”
Deepika will be seen next in the Bollywood remake of the The Intern, helmed by filmmaker Amit Sharma. The project is being co-produced by Deepika herself, in association with Warner Bros India. The release date is yet to be announced but the film’s latest poster suggests it is slated to hit cinemas in 2022.
Besides this, the Bajirao Mastani starlet will be seen sharing screen space with husband Ranveer Singh in the sports drama ’83. Some more of her upcoming projects include the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathan and an actioner named Fighter, alongside Hrithik Roshan.
