KARACHI:

Four people were killed in separate traffic accidents and other incidents in the metropolis on Sunday.

Malir police said that Abdullah Bashir, a seminary teacher, and his colleague were going on a motorcycle on the National Highway when a car coming from behind rammed into their vehicle near the Malir Cut.

Abdullah was killed on the spot while his friend was injured. However, the latter too died during treatment at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

According to police, the errant driver along with the car fled the scene. Meanwhile, two people fell to their deaths in a well. Saeedabad Police Station Duty Officer Jahangir Ahmed said that Shahid, 30, and Abdul Khaliq, 35, were dismantling a water pump to take out its motor.

The pump was very close to an open well and the ground was slippery and damp, added Ahmed.
