PTI Balochistan leadership demands ‘removal’ of Kamal

A delegation of the ruling party met planning minister in the federal capital

ISLAMABAD:

A delegation of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from the Balochistan Assembly met Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar in Islamabad on Wednesday and demanded “removal” of Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal from his post. The delegation was led by PM’s special aide and Balochistan PTI chief Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind.

In his meeting with Umar, Rind said “it has become impossible to work with Jam Kamal”. According to sources, PTI deputy parliamentary leader Naseebullah Marri and other MNAs and MPAs participated in the meeting and expressed reservations over the Balochistan government.

It may be mentioned here that lawmakers of the ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and its ally PTI in the provincial assembly have geared up to bring a no-trust motion against Kamal.

A day earlier, Aslam Bhootani, an ally of the government and an independent MNA, hosted a dinner in honour of Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo in Islamabad. Sources said that both discussed the reservations of the legislators against the Balochistan chief minister. Insiders say that Bizenjo has reservations against Kamal while Bhootani had defeated Kamal in 2018 general elections.
