At least three people were killed in separate firing incidents in Balochistan’s Panjgur and Kech district on Monday.
Sources familiar with the matter said two persons were gunned down in a drive-by shooting when unidentified armed motorists opened fire on a vehicle near Chitkan bypass area of Panjgur town.
According to police, the deceased persons were identified as Khan Jan and Amir Bux. The assailants managed to escape successfully after committing the crime.
The bodies of the deceased persons were shifted to Panjgur District Headquarter Hospital and later handed over to heirs after completion of medico legal formalities.
As per sources, the motive behind the double murder could not be ascertained immediately. One of the victim namely Khan Jan is the elder brother of Balochi poet Fazal Sher and was abducted in 2017 but later released last year.
In another firing incident late Sunday night, unidentified armed assailants shot and killed a man Ismail in Buleda area of Kech district.
Levies sources said the victim’s body was shifted to a nearby hospital and later handed over to heirs after autopsy.
Local police have lodged both the murder cases and investigation into the incidents is underway.
